Nate Roberts: craft brewer, sandwich connoisseur, and former marine

Denver native Nate Roberts got his first taste of the craft beer industry in an unlikely place: the White House.

Serving as Chief of Communications to President Barack Obama (famously a craft beer fanatic), Roberts was introduced to micro brews drinking with the boss himself. Following his service, he studied chemistry and brewing at The University of Colorado. A handful of stints in Denver breweries later, Roberts relocated to Oklahoma City in 2017 to help start one of the state’s favorite breweries, Stonecloud Brewing Company.

Since then, Roberts has stepped into the role of restaurateur with his first restaurant, The Goose - part sandwich shop, part dive bar. Knowing that every good sandwich needs and equally good beer, he developed the recipe for Wells Pale Lager and the rest is history.
